LABOR’S COMMITMENT TO A 24/7 PUBLIC ACCESS POLICE STATION A HUGE
WIN FOR ARMADALE.

Local MLA, Dr Tony Buti, has welcomed Mark McGowan’s commitment to open
Armadale Police Station to the public 24 hours 7 days a week.

“I want to thank the people of Armadale who turned out to march with me and other
concerned residents to demand a 24/7 public access police station in Armadale.” Dr Buti
said.

“I also want to thank the thousands of people who signed the petition to the State
Government.”

“Unfortunately that petition fell on deaf ears but we did not give up and made sure that
our need for a 24/7 police station in Armadale was voiced at every opportunity.”

“This has been a long, hard campaign but finally we have been heard.” he said.
Dr Buti said, “A 24 hour/7 day a week public access police station in Armadale will
provide immediate contact with the police for local people and assist in the prevention of
crime.”

“To know that Armadale Police Station will offer a safe haven for our families and friends
when they are feeling personally threatened is a great relief.”

“Currently Armadale has a population around 82,267 and expected to reach over
144,703 by 2036, which is an overall increase in population of 75.89%.”

The State Government must make Armadale a policing centre and keep abreast of the
needs of one of the fastest growing regions in Western Australian,” he said.
