Local MLA welcomes funding for accommodation support secured for Mundarda Child Care Centre and Armadale Community Family Centre

The McGowan Government will continue to provide funding for accommodation support to help ensure the important work of local organisations continues.

The recent State Budget reversed a Liberal National Government decision that would have left facing a significant financial burden relating to property maintenance and asset renewal, or replacement costs.

$4 million has been allocated over the next four years to continue the funding of 64 WA community neighbourhood and childcare centres.

The centres are made available at nominal rent to not-for-profit community and childcare organisations, which provide a range of community and family services.

Dr Buti said, “Mundarda and Armadale Community Family Centre are very important centres for local residents.”

“They have been providing child care, recreation, training, information and opportunities for social engagement for many years to the Armadale area.”

“I know that uncertainty around possible cuts to accommodation funding was a great concern to these agencies and local families.” Dr Buti said.

“The McGowan Government has listened to the communities concerns and ensured these centres can continue to provide their important activities and services.”
